FIA Day 2023 was held at Rajam Hall, MIT on 28th March 2023 with Mr. A R Unnikrishnan, M.D, Saint-Gobain India Pvt Ltd as Chief Guest and Prof. R Velraj, Vice Chancellor – Anna University as the Guest of Honour.

  • Mr. Senthilnathan, President – MITAA welcomed the gathering and briefed on various activities of MITAA. He emphasized on the manner in which MITAA could restore normalcy in the activities after the difficult pandemic conditions and thanked every stakeholder in this regard with a special mention to the University, MIT, Alumni fraternity.
  • Dean of MIT, Dr. J Prakash presented the annual report for the Institute highlighting on the achievements of the students, how more focus is being given to research oriented activities. His annual report also mentioned the names of student achievers in various competitions, sports arena.
  • Mr. Senthamil Arasu, Patron – MITAA, read out the citation for the Outstanding Alumnus award accorded on Mr. D Ravichandran, a Power Plant Consultant in Singapore. The Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and other dignitaries presented the award to Mr Ravichandran who delivered the Rajam Memorial Lecture and recalled his MIT Days with passion.
  • Mr Anbuselvan V.P. – MITAA read out the citation of Distinguish Alumnus award accorded on Mr. S K Priyadarsi, 38th batch Alumnus. The DA Awardee, in his acceptance speech, recalled how the stint at MIT had helped him to aim for Civil Services and succeed it in.
  • Mr Ramachandran, Patron – MITAA, introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering.
  • Mr. A R Unnikrishnan, M.D, Saint-Gobain India Pvt, in his keynote address touched upon the relevance of companies like Saint-Gobain in the fast changing life styles and how graduates from MIT can be part of this. He assured to look at MIT students favorably during the placement activity.
  • Mr. Shaji Vinod, Jt Secy – MITAA briefed the audience on the special prizes for Best Outgoing Student instituted by Mr PMS Prasad, Exec Dir – Reliance Industries Ltd, a 23rd batch Alumnus. After introducing all the nominees from each department, the winners were announced and cash prize if Rs 35,000/- each was handed over by the Chief Guest and the Vice Chancellor to one boy and one girl.
  • On a customary note books were donated to MIT Library by MITAA before the distribution of prizes, medals, certificates to students. All these prizes, awards, medals were instituted by individual Alumni, MITAA Chapters, Alumni as a batch.
  • Secretary of MITAA, Mr. T Sankar proposed the vote of thanks.
  • The event concluded with National Anthem and followed by high tea.
