FIA Day – 2026 was organized jointly by MITAA and MIT on 27th March 2026
Mr. Senthilnathan, President-MITAA welcomed the gathering after the invocation. He briefed on various activities of MITAA during his welcome address
FIA Day event was presided over by Dr. V Kumaresan – Registrar (I/c)
Annual Report of MIT was presented by the Dean of MIT, Dr. P. Jayashree detailing the activities of the Institute during the academic year, achievements by the students in various fields
Dr. V Kumaresan, Registrar (I/c)-Anna University and Smt. Prema Srinivasan from the Founder’s Family extended their felicitations during their address to the gathering. Smt Prema Srinivasan handed over a cheque of Rs 5.00L to MIT.
Mr. R Venkatasamy, Treasurer-MITAA, introduced the Outstanding Alumnus Awardee Mr.R Velusamy of 44th batch Automobile Engineering, President – Automotive Business, Mahindra & Mahindra and read out the citation
Mr. R Velusamy after accepting the Outstanding Alumnus award, while giving the Rajam Memorial Lecture recalled his early days as a trainee, how the grind at MIT helped him to cope with the challenges in his professional career. His Lecture was interlaced with few humorous anecdotes.
Mr. K S Anbuselvan, V.P.-MITAA, introduced the Distinguished Alumnus Awardee Mr. Susi Ganeshan, 41st Batch Automobile Engineering Alumnus and read out the citation
Subsequently, Mr. Susi Ganeshan, popular Film Director, Founder of a Food Chain in Mumbai was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus Award
Mr. N Ramachandran, Patron-MITAA introduced Mr. Elan Chelian, V.P. & M.D. – Sanmina India, Chief Guest for the event to the audience
Mr. Elan Chelian commended the contributions of MIT and its Alumni in Nation Building. He committed to extend his organization’s support to MIT and its students in every possible way. He also extended his support for various initiatives taken up by MITAA
Mr. Shaji Vinod, Jt Secy – MITAA presented the nominees for the Best Outgoing Student Awards (sponsored by our Alumnus Mr. PMS Prasad, Exec Director- Reliance Industries Ltd) and announced the names of the winners.
Mr. Maria Antony, EC Member – MITAA handed over books to the Library, on behalf of MITAA Alumni who contribute regularly for the Book Bank project.
The day’s event was concluded with formal Vote of Thanks by Mr. T Sankar, Secretary-MITAA
The event was followed by High Tea for the dignitaries, Alumni who attended in large numbers and all students
